Perfect Size, and my average men's hands fit well. It holds 12 oz filled to the brim, but 9 oz is about the ideal level you would fill it.

This is not a 12oz mug as advertised. It is a standard small 10oz mug into which you can get ~11oz if you fill it to near the top.

I had purchased 6 -4 piece place settings of the fiestaware dinner ware. I wanted a larger, but not too large coffee mug. This is the perfect size, holding a perfect 12 steeping ounces and yet doesn't feel too heavy. The cups that come with the settings are a bit smaller at 10 oz. Great addition to my place settings!
