This product is quite frustrating to get installed. The manual does indeed say that it requires another Leviton manual rocker switch however none of the wiring diagrams would make you think so.

In the end, this device does not work like ordinary electrical components, both this end and its partner switch require a load line, typical three-way switches do not have continuous power running to both sides. On the other hand it does only use a single traveler. In this regard you can use the other traveler for your continuous load line.

This device *WILL NOT WORK* with another standard three way switch, if you are going to purchase this, be sure to examine your wiring and the manual for this device and its accompanying device.

The product listed and the item I received was a Leviton IPP0R vacancy sensor. The product description on the item page is for an IPP15, which I did not notice when I ordered the switch. They have 2 totally different purposes - the IPPOR cannot be used by itself, it must be used in conjunction with an IPP15 in a 3-way setup. So the switch I purchased is useless on its own. If you're looking for a standalone occupancy sensor switch, this isn't what you want. You need the IPP15. I hope Amazon clears this up - very frustrating.

This device is of excellent build quality. Vendor was quick to ship and fees were in line. Unit comes with excellent instructions as well. Thought I'd add a couple of cautions here.

BE SURE TO VERIFY THAT YOU HAVE NEUTRAL WIRE IN BOTH 3-WAY SWITCH LOCATIONS!!!

It is not standard practice to include a neutral wire at both switch locations in a 3 way circuit.

Standard practice is to wire light fixture with 14/2 that contains hot and neutral. The Hot gets passed through to the first 3-way switch via 14/2 and the white wire of this run is actually a hot return from the switches. 14/3 is then used between the two switches so often there is no neutral present in one or both switch boxes. This is done for cost savings for wire AND time when building the house.

This switch IPP0R is an add-on to the IPP15-1L switch to add 3-way control and have a sensor at both locations. Neither of these switches will work without a neutral. Be sure to verify! Happy Wiring.
